Removing Child Account (less than 13 years old) From Family Sharing

Request help with removing spurious child accounts from my family sharing group with screen time. When I created a new AppleID for my daughter (9 years old), the first email name that I tried was rejected and I succeeded by modifying the proposed email associated with the AppleID. Same thing happened with a second daughter. However, the spurious AppleID stayed in my family sharing group (total of two accounts each for two daughters).

Apple will only allow transferring the child account to another family or deleting the AppleID in order to remove from my family sharing group. I succeeded in logging onto the spurious AppleID and requesting to delete the account by going to Data and Privacy. Because my child is under 13, the parent has to approve the request to delete the Apple ID. However, I did not receive a notification on either my phone or email of the deletion request, so I have no way to approve the deletion request and remove the spurious account from family sharing.

Overall, Apple is too restrictive by not making it easy for the parent to delete a child's account when warranted (especially in this case due to the creation of spurious accounts which prevents me from adding other children to the family sharing group). Request help with deleting the spurious AppleID.

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Problem resolved after talking to Apple Support over the Phone. Process to delete a child's AppleID account is as follows:

Sign into the AppleID you want to delete, then select Data & Privacy. After logging into Data & Privacy, select delete my AppleId. Since the account belongs to a child, the request will be sent to the family organizer via email. The family organizer needs to open the email from Apple, select the link in the email, log into the Data & Privacy webpage, and then follow instructions to accept the request to delete the child's AppleID account, to include copying down 12 digit number which will allow you to recover the account if you want. Once the request is processed, it can take 7 to 30 days for the account to disappear from your family sharing group.
