Macbook Air Charger - 30W USB-C + Extension 16A 250V~

Hi Apple Community,

I just purchased a new Macbook Air with 30W USB-C charger. I would like to know if an older Mac extension cable (16A 250V~) can be used to simply lengthen the overall cable? Would there be any issue with compatibility?

Thank you in advance.

If you are talking about the extension cable that is the picture below then the answer is YES. No issues. You can use it.

I am currently using this extension cable that I had from an older Mac without issues.

I don't have to worry about there being any difference in power as I am not certain which unused Mac the extension came from?

These cables are universal and should safely work with anything, including using an adapter for a different style plug/outlet. The maximum (AC input) current rating of an Apple 30W USB-C power adapter is 0.75A, and of course the adapter can accept anything between 100V to 240V AC.
