Audio Unit plug-in can't be used in Garage Band

I'm attempting to access 3rd party (Native Instruments) audio unit plug ins... when I get there it tells me "The Audio Unit 'XXX' could not be loaded for your project, and may need to be updated."

FYI - I'm running the latest GB version, the latest versions of the Native Instruments plug ins I'm attempting to access, and Catalina on my MacBook.

It appears from searching around the web that others have had similar problems. Some seem to have been fixed by updating versions, some have been fixed by adding a 3rd party work around from Two Notes Audio Engineering, either way, I haven't had any luck.

My main question is... can this be fixed in GB? If it can't, np, I'll take the time/energy I'm using trying to fix it, and start learning a new DAW. If it can be fixed, then I'll not take the time/energy to learn a new DAW. :)

Thanks for your time.

You have to turn on Enable Audio Units in GB 10.

Go under Garageband => Preferences => Audio/MIDI then click Enable Audio Units box

Go back to your project and you should be able to bring up your AU.

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can help further.
