static w/ bluetooth earpods

I just updated to version 10.15.2 on my Macbook Air, and I have been experiencing issues with the audio when I use my bluetooth earphones that I had not experienced prior to updating. Every time new audio occurs (song change, video starting, notification, etc.), a short static burst sounds. It is mostly just a nuisance since it only lasts a few seconds each time, but sometimes it spikes loud enough that it almost hurts my ears. This doesn't occur when I use these bluetooth headphones with my iPhone 11, and I tested another set of bluetooth headphones on this laptop, and no issue. I've completely disconnected the headphones from the computer and reconnected them twice separate days and restarted the laptop too, but the issue persisted. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi there, metanav.

I see that you're having a problem using your bluetooth headphones with your MacBook Air after updating to macOS 10.15.2. There's static between each song, sometimes quite loudly. They work fine with your iPhone 11, and another Bluetooth headphone works just fine with your Mac. I'm glad to help with this.

If the sound from your wireless headphones cuts out or is distorted -- This article provides the information and steps that you can use when the sound from your wireless headphones is distorted. Also, since another pair of Bluetooth headphones work just fine with your MacBook Air, see if there's an update for the ones you're writing in about.

Take care.
