If we share Apple ID won’t that merge our contacts, photos etc?

If we share Apple ID to log into home sharing won’t that merge our contacts, photos, etc?

Yes, which is why you should never share an Apple ID with anyone. You can set up family sharing—>Family Sharing - Apple Support
