I have a late 2013 iMac Desktop (MacOS Sierra ~ 2.7 GHz Processor ~ 8 GB )
I tried to download Adobe Animate but It won't allow me to as the program is pretty large. Is there some way for me to add an external drive or other options? I cannot afford a new computer right now. Thank you for any advice.

It's not because it's large. It requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later.

Just to add, Animate requires 4GB to install. If you have less than 20GB of free space on your drive you need to free up some space.
