Mail / Exchange unread messages?

Mail on my MacBook is working as normal but iphone is showing all my exchange emails as unread? Problem started 3 days ago. Have tried re-installing Mail app on the iPhone but get the same unread messages?

The content of my emails disappears after minutes, then reappears minutes later. I think that my emails have begun to be stored externally and not locally. How do I turn off this problem? The email notice is still visible but the message and attachments go away for minutes at a time. In all mailboxes [Re-Titled by Moderator]

impossible to add Gmail to Mail I had gmail under mail until yesterday but again it did not work properly=> I deleted gmail and then wanted to reinstall gmail - NO WAY ... wether by + or preferences and choosing gmail I only get an attempt to open gmail and nothing happens. The "search" continues for ever without any result. I opened gmail under chrome as it said "open in browser" but still no way; thanks, Jenny

Hello mpmusicservices,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand Exchange messages read on your MacBook are displayed as unread on your iPhone.

It sounds like you’ll need to make a change to your Exchange mailbox server settings.

I’ve found an article from Microsoft, which should help.

Server settings you’ll need from your email provider - Office Support

You may also wish to reach out to the department or provider managing your Exchange email account.
