Updating apps

I have this problem where I update apps and it asks for a password for another Apple ID that’s not mine . I have my own Apple ID and I am a bit confused to why this is happening. If anyone can help me resolve this issue that would be great!

Either you repurchase them using your current Apple ID or you contact Apple to ask if they can transfer the purchases to your current Apple ID. They usually will not do that if it is merely for convenience.

Contacting Apple Customer and Support Service

  1. Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
  2. Primary support help at Contact Support.
  3. To contact product and tech support:  Contacting Apple for support and service including international calling numbers.

Apparently, because you purchased the apps using a different Apple ID from the one you now use. If this other Apple ID is not yours, then whose is it? Did you purchase your device used or new? Is it a computer or an iDevice? If the latter, then what is it? If it's used, then you need to purchase your own copies of these apps using your Apple ID. If it's new, then it's probably a returned item. Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).
