iPhone 7 battery

Recently my iPhone 7, which is about 2 years old, keeps dying randomly and the percentage drains quite quickly. It’ll die when it’s still got 80% battery left, 40% battery left, 20% battery left and most recently it’s been dying either as soon as I unplug it at 100% or while it is charging. I’ve tried restarting it but that doesn’t seem to be helping at all. Any idea what could be causing this and if there’s anything I could do to fix it?

That can happen with an older battery, where the battery condition may not match what the smart battery system thinks is the condition. The usual fix is a battery replacement. If you are where I think you are (from your username), you might have tough time getting a battery replacement. Apple does have mail-in service, although that may take a while.
