Offline Maps

Hi Apple,

I am writing this because I have been curious if this advancement will ever happen, or if this is a good update idea. My family ends up going on a lot of trips, and we don’t have any cellular data. I had the idea for an update to the Maps app, which would bring an offline mode into play. I have looked this up, and there is a few apps that have this, but I thought it would be great if an offline mode would be brought into the Maps app it’s self.

The way this would work is you would have to set your destination while on WiFi/Cellular Data before the trip. After you would click some sort if download button that would download the route onto your device. Then being that the route it downloaded you will still be able to get voice directions from Siri and also be able to see what you need to see to get to your destination. This would be very similar to downloading music, but instead you would download routes.
