Homepods won't stay connected

I bought a pair of homepods and use them from iTunes on my computer via Airplay....THEY DONT STAY CONNECTED....they disconnect all the time...I have rebooted, reset etc them NUMEROUS times.....and they just won't stay connected......the interested thing is that I also have a wireless access point and AppleTV connected to other speakers and they NEVER disconnect....only the HomePods....if wasn't happening to both I might consider it to be defective unit...but it happens to both and they were purchased from different stores so it seems something inherent in the units....find it a bit ironic I get better reliability from a wireless access point and the AppleTV for streaming music than the HomePods which were designed for that very purpose....expected better from Apple....
