LG TV Airplay 2 input only?

I have an LG TV that has been updated to enable Airplay. I can screen mirror from my iPhone to the TV via Airplay but would like to output audio from my TV to external speakers via Airplay (specifically to my HomePods) if that is possible. I suspect the Airplay functionality is input only...

AirPlay only plays audio no video When I try to use AirPlay to screen mirror from either of our Macbook pros, we only hear audio on our TV, there's no video. It will work with my iPhone but not any other devices.

Airplay video on Apple TV while still using IPAD/IPHONE speakers? Hey everyone, quick question. How do I airplay a video from my iPad/ iPhone onto my Apple TV, but still use my device speakers as the audio source? (what I have been doing is connecting a bluetooth speaker to my TV, so whatever I airplay onto it will have audio from my speaker. However I want to be able to just use my device as my audio but video on TV)

to the best of my knowledge no tv can do anything other than airplay input

Thanks, that was my suspicion, unfortunately.

I guess I'll have to stick with HDMI/ARC into my AV Receiver for the moment then, or switch to a Dolby ATMOS soundbar/sub.
