Thunderbolt bridge not connected, one iMac

Hi guys I am trying to transfer files between iMacs and on one iMac has thunderbolt bridge self assigned IP and on the other it just says not connected, how can I change this so both have self assigned IP?

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you want to have a self-assigned IP address with both Macs. I'll do what I can to explain things you can do.


On the Mac, you can edit some items via System Preferences: Change network settings on Mac


Some network settings might also be managed by your router. Check the documentation that came with your router or online for further assistance.
