On my new iPhone 11 my Face ID was not picking up so, I reset it. When I went to reinstall I see my face but it keeps telling me to move the phone higher and lower but it doesn’t register my face.
it is a brand new phone so I am concerned.

i would recommend going into setting, face id and passcode, and press reset face id and complete the scans again. if it still doesn’t work, get in touch with apple- maybe take it into a store- and see what they say. hope this helps :)
Well... is there anything on the camera?
Tips:
dont do it with your eyes closed
your hair may be in the way of your face
do it in a room with the lights on
hold it how you normally do when you use your phone

No nothing is obscuring the camera or the infrared sensor. Very odd my face is on the screen I position it and it constantly says bring face in range or move iPhone higher or lower.
It may just be a problem with the face recognition software
