Apple Watch Exercise Tracking
My girlfriend and I have always had vastly different exercise minutes when going on walks. I always get almost all of the time spent walking while she might only get 5 mins of exercise counted on a 30 min walk. This happens even when we walk the same speed together.
We recently tested this theory by having my girlfriend wear both watches on a recent 45 min walk. My watch recorded the walk as 40 mins of exercise while my girlfriend's watch recorded it as 2 mins of exercise. We walked a little over two miles at a 22.5min/mile pace with an average heart rate of 105 on both watches.
I am a 25 year old 5'9'' 160lb male (resting heart rate 50) while my girlfriend is a 28 year old 5'3'' 135lb female (resting heart rate 57). Can someone explain why we are getting vastly different exercise times recorded despite doing the exercise (I have already checked to make sure our height and weight are correct in the watch settings and we have tried using different watch bands and using different tightnesses of the bands). Girlfriend has a series 5 and I have a series 3.
