Logic Pro x - recording vocals after selecting audio track: why is the resulting track green and not blue/

I am recording vocals with a microphone plugged directly into my interface. I select an audio track and then selected "warm vocal" as the setting. But after recording, the track is green, not blue. And the green track is not midi, but acts very strange: I cannot move it. And it appears that I cannot use flex time. Should I be trying to somehow "convert" it to an audio file that is blue and that I can work with? Would greatly appreciate if anyone can advise. I believe that I have had the same situation when recording guitar with the instrument cable plugged directly into my interface...

The green/blue thing is just for apple loops. Audio files are colored according to the color assigned to the channel before you record. You have to set logic to the same input channel as your microphone. Do you see a wave form while you're recording? Do you see one after? What happens when you play it back ? If you have recorded and empty region, you're on the wrong input, or you're using a condenser microphone with the phantom power turned off.n WHat's your interface?

Hi Thanks for your reply. Hopefully you can see the screen shot. So my daughter recorded but I think she saw a waveform. Definitely had the channels set to match up - I mean, it records and plays back the sound of her vocals. What I noticed is, initially the region presents with the typical blue "audio track" indicator like you can see on the screen shot, but, when I then select the "warm vocal" sound from Logic Pro, (prior to recording) the indicator changes to the picture of the microphone with an arrow next to it. So If I didn't select the sound from Logic, I am pretty sure I will then record a proper blue audio file....I am using a Focusrite 6i6 and a Shure D-57 microphone (not a condenser) so I don't think phantom power is an issue...but it will play back normal but I can't for example duplicate the track, i.e., things I can do with audio or midi tracks...one item, I set the channels up as "input 1" and "output 1/2", then later on the screen it shows the input as Bus 10, I am learning more about bussing, but I don't think that is the problem here, I see that all of the time when adding effects. All I'm saying is I didn't set the Bus to 10 Logic seems to just sort of do that, but I see that in instances where I don't have this problem. So I just don't get what these green tracks at the bottom are; they are not midi tracks, but are not audio tracks either. Also, if I just put a mike in front of an amp and record vocals or guitar that way (the mike of course going to the interface), I don't have this problem, I set up the same way and get and audio (blue) track...it seems like only when vocals or guitar directly into the Focusrite and then I select a sound patch from Logic Pro that I have this issue... feel like I am making a really simple, basic mistake...any further thoughts? thanks again for any help!
