Unable to activate iMessage and Facetime after upgrading iphone

Hello,

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone Xs. iMessage and Facetime were working fine on my old phone and it was on ios 13.3.1. Now when I set up the new phone, somehow my iMessage and Facetime are either failed to activate right away or sometimes they are in the “waiting to activate” period for several hours then fail.

I tried calling the support number in my country but the line doesn’t seem to work. I also called my carrier but they said they couldn’t do anything. Is this a bug in the new ios update? I have been switching between phones for a few times now and never encountered such error. Please help!

iPhone XS, iOS 13

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.
