Can't hear any music when i play songs in iTunes

Any idea why all of a sudden i can't hear any sound when i play songs in iTuneson my desktop. Speakers are fine as i can hear music perfectly in Spotify. Was working ok at the weekend but when i tried to play anything today i can hear nothing. Progress bar is moving along ok at the top of the screen. Can't se anything in the setings to indicate why. Any ideas ???

No, the volume in iTunes is turned up fully the same as it was yesterday. Not that simple I'm afraid
