Activation Lock

Hi there my gran daughter played with my mini iPad and for some reason it is now on Activation Lock requesting "Enter the Apple ID and password that were used to set up this iPad. a.....@icloud.com"

When I enter my Apple ID and Password and press "Next" it says:

Incorrect Apple ID

The Apple ID

..........@hotmail.com cannot be

used to unlock this iPad.

Why??????

I notice in my Apple ID Device list that my iPad is not listed in my list. It was bought about 6 years ago so perhaps this is why? I have definitely changed my Apple password since then.

I notice in the Activation Lock page it is asking for my Apple ID as an iCloud address.

I vaguely remember setting up an iCloud account.........

Hello,

The iPad is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document then bring the receipt and iPad into an Apple retail location.
