Hi folks, I'm attempting to reinstall osx after wiping my hard drive - to ship my comp off for resale, however when I do this I get to the "computer account" information that I would prefer to leave blank. Any way around this?

-Working on mac desktop
-Original machine shipped with Sierra installed
-Tried with and without entering my apple id info.
Why don't you either shut down the Mac after the download is complete and it will install when the new owner starts it up (recommended) or simply create a dummy account with a fake name and a simple password (such as 12345) and include a note with that info.
Command (⌘)-R
Install the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac.
Option-⌘-R
Upgrade to the latest macOS compatible with your Mac.
Shift-Option-⌘-R
Install the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available.
Shift-Option-Command-R isn't available if Sierra or later was never installed.
Yes all those steps have been completed. I CAN install the os IF I create a computer account. The issue is I'm selling the PC (to an authorized reseller) and that information will be not be accessible to the new owner.
Thanks for your insight. I had considered that. My other thought was to see if Command + Option + R gives me different results than just Command + R.
It should give you the original OS rather than the current one, but, as far as I know, otherwise no difference.
