Battery life of my apple watch

Performance of the battery of my Apple Watch is very poor. If I charge it full, it lasts around 6 hours.

How can I improve it?

What is the battery life on the series 3 38 mm ? I just purchased my first Apple Watch and I need the battery to last a day at least ? Is there something’s I need to do differently?
