Is there a way to only use one keyboard with target display mode?

I have a bluetooth keyboard (from Mac) I use with my Macbook Pro and I have the wired keyboard for the iMac. I would prefer not to have both on my desk when using Target Display Mode. I'm able to connect the devices using Target Display Mode but the need to have the wired keyboard solely for the purpose of hitting "Command + F2" everytime I connect the devices is a pain. I take my Macbook Pro to meetings during the day so I disconnect about 3-4 times per day in addition to turning the computer on and off at the beginning of the workday.
