HomePod lost all bass

I have 2 HomePods both 13 months old. One just recently lost all bass - sounds terrible. I haven't moved it, updated it, anything - just one day boom, bass gone and the HomePod sounds absolutely terrible. Apple has offered no solution, apparently the HomePod cannot be serviced. Very unfortunate since it seems like it would be a simple fix. Anyone else have this problem? Apple, anything?

Very disappointed at the moment.

They used a diagnostic app to troubleshoot - no issues showed up. They said that they don't do HomePod repairs - not an option. Since its just out of warranty the only option was to pay $279 for a replacement.

The speaker isn't blown - just sound like none of the woofers are being used. Working one day and then not the next. I have 2 HomePods, this one sounds absolutely nothing like the one that's functioning properly.

Not to knock Apple's resident geniuses, but given that the HomePod is more of a cult favorite i wonder if they truly know what they're doing besides reading from a manual on how to perform diagnostics.

Is it possible you blew a speaker? Too close to a heavy magnet?

Nothing online suggests it's an easy hardware fix. You really can't trust your local iFixIt store to handle any kid of repair.

Have you made a call to Apple support yet and asked them to schedule a call with one of their HomePod guys? I'm hoping this could be an option.
