Random Mastercard appeared in my autofill

Hi, today I was going through with a purchase and a random MasterCard appeared in the auto-fill. I went into my phone settings and checked the saved cards and now there is a MasterCard that belongs to John Appleseed. I looked him up and it turns out his name is used as some gag for apple, not quite sure whats going on here but it looks like a real and usable MasterCard.

Any ideas?

Hey there hannes_j,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand you have found an unknown credit card among your saved credit card information for Safari.

My first suggestion would be to remove this card from your saved credit cards.

  •  Tap Settings > Safari > Autofill > Saved Credit Cards > Edit > Select and delete the unknown card

If you have iCloud Keychain enabled, your data is synced between all your eligible devices, that are also signed in using your Apple ID. Perhaps this information was input on one of your other devices, signed in with the same Apple ID.

You can learn more about iCloud Keychain below.

I’m also including more information regarding Autofill.

If you feel your Apple ID may be compromised, you’ll want to follow the steps and recommendations included in the following resource.

Have a good one!
