Macbook Air - Only able to access some website - others not responding

Hi folks,

Recently my MacBook Air has become very limited for use on the internet.

I'm able to still access a few websites, such as Yahoo mail, but the majority, such as the BBC are sending a message that the server is not responding.

My internet connection is fine, for example I'm able to post this request for help via my work laptop.

I was thinking of making an appointment with the Apple Store, but thought i might ask here 1st in case it was something simple.

Any ideas?

You could try & see if this helps diagnose issue:

• Use Wireless Diagnostics on your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/use-wireless-diagnostics-mchlf4de377f/mac

This article can be useful across system ^ versions by choice in article header.

• How to use Apple Hardware Test on your Mac - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257

And then there's Safe mode, to start (login, sometimes twice) and then if

nothing else, simply re-start to exit safe mode. ~ It helps fix things, at that.

• Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

While there may be other things to try, I'm not thinking any just now.
