iPad 9.5 lock when top closes

How do I change it so my iPad 9.5 doesn’t lock every time I close the cover. It didn’t do it until this last update to iOS 13.3.1. When I’m listening to audio books while I read I don’t want it open but don’t want to sign back in every 10-15 seconds if I get something.

In my case the lock/unlock feature isn’t working with the tempered glass on and I don’t want to remove the tempered glass… if it will work without it then i’ll remove the tempered glass. Won’t Lock/Unlock When Closing Smart Cover - Brand New iPad Pr My brand new iPad Pro 12.9 2020, won’t lock/unlock when I close my Smart Cover. It’s running iOS 13.5. I do not have the lock/unlock option under display brightness settings.

Hello,

You can manage this setting in Settings > Display & Brightness.
