iPad iMessage/FaceTime Login

I purchased my iPhone 11 and iPad (7th Gen) together, and they are both linked to my Verizon plan. However, my iPad will not let me login to my iMessage or FaceTime app. I'm not able to login through either app or in the settings menu. No matter which one I try to login from I get the following error:

FaceTime Activation: An error occurred during activation. Try again.

I have tried multiple things, but haven't found a solution online or in the forums.

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.
