Dodge Durango 2020

When connecting to CarPlay via usb, the sound is drastically different then Bluetooth. Speakers sound as if they don’t get full power and maps only gives directions thru the driver door speaker. Which it maxes out at 25 but the car volume goes to 38. All other speakers drown out directions when’s she speaking at the max volume limit. I’ve turned up to loud in setting in my phone. Nonetheless will a higher grade lightening cable for audio improve this or is this a dodge problem?

Hi vanuse144,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your iPhone connection with your new Dodge Durango. It sounds like you have a better connection with Bluetooth than USB.

Have a look at this page for reference: How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car.

Using the Lightning cable that came with your iPhone shouldn't cause these issue. You can of course test with another cable to see that the original cable is operating correctly.

From what it sounds like with the volume output, it may be a Dodge issue. I'd recommend checking with the dealer ship for any firmware updates that might be available for the car's stereo.

Have a fantastic day!
