Green horizontal line and strobing green when lock or unlock phone

I have a green horizontal line and it flashes green when I lock or unlock phone it also will randomly strobe when left open. Recently it stayed a light green white on lock screen and I could faintly see the display behind it. After holding the lock button I was able to access my phone again. Apple store suggested replace the screen but I don’t think that is the issue.
