My computer is listed in devices for Apple however I want to down load books from the iCloud but when I try the message pops up saying ‘your computer is not authorised’. When I try and authorise the computer it then tells me there are too many computers ( 5).
I feel like I’m going around in circles!!!

You can only have five devices authorized under the same Apple ID. You'll have to remove one device from your Apple ID Account to authorize the current one assuming you really do have five devices authorized. Please see this read: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205064 As the link shows, you'll need to sign in here https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=signin to make the change.

The error that shows computer is not authorised , because your Apple ID and password is different and you used their Apple ID and password to sync you'r Mac with other devices .

Sorry, I should have said computers not devices above. I knew that your problem seemed to be related to computers. And, you can't have more than 5 computers authorized.
