Can you please fix this? Regardless of WHY the mail app does that, I do not want to be disturbed while viewing something in full screen. This is incredibly frustrating.

There is a bug in Mac Mail that causes the Mail window no open occasionally if you have a Gmail account. Try using the yellow button to minimize the Mail window, instead of the red (close) button. You can enable "Minimize windows into application icon" in Dock system preference to avoid creating another dock icon.
There is no misunderstanding. Uninstall Google and your problems are over. If you are required to use Google for its email services and you do not want it to manipulate your Mac, then you must use Google's webmail.

I think there is some misunderstanding here. I did not install anything. I use the MAIL app of mac to read my emails from GMAIL account. Just like in the same mail app, I have added Yahoo and Exchange email accounts.

What are you using as your email service provider? If you do not know, it's usually the part after the @ in your email address.
I have configured multiple ones. Few gmail, few yahoo, and one outlook (exchange).

Fix it by uninstalling Google.
I am sorry but that doesn't make any sense. How MAIL app behaves shouldn't depend on service provider. There needs to be an option to not have that happen regardless of the service provider.
You willfully installed Google on your Mac. That's what it does. If you don't like it, uninstall Google. That is the option you seek.
