I have an iPhone provided by my employer so all of my personal music and my Apple Music memberships is all linked to my personal iPod. Son if I get a car with CarPlay can it be set up to use the iPod for all my music and Apple Music and still use the iPhone for all of the phone calls and contacts, etc?

While the iPod Touch does not support CarPlay, our SUV has Bluetooth device control and I can have access to all of my music on my 6th gen iPod Touch wirelessly through the Bluetooth device setup of our SUV car infotainment system and use all the transport controls from my car's own infotainment touch screen.
Setting up an iPod Touch using your vehicle's infotainment Bluetooth device setup, instead may work for your iPod Touch, instead.

No model of iPod touch supports CarPlay.
With CarPlay can I have it use my IPod for music and my iPhone for calls, contacts, etc?
