Catalina and Photos app

Just recently upgraded my iMac to Catalina os and my photos app has crashed. Try Repair Library Permissions. Message - Library is locked or you do not have permission. Enter password > repair. Message, unable to open Photos Library (1000). Select Photos Library, repair, message - operation could not be completed PHPhotosErrorDomain error 1000.

Any ideas?

cannot repair photos library or library permission I have migrated to a MacBook Pro on Catalina from a MacBook with High Sierra. The old Mac has a photos library stored on a Windows 10 machine (~830gb of photos on a 2TB exFAT drive). Trying to open Photos, I am presented with an error that the app cannot open the library, and needs to repair it. I let the repair do it’s thing, and eventually I get an error that permissions need to be repaired. So I let that do it’s thing, and eventually either the app will seize up and I need to force quit or the app will return an error, and then close. Not sure what to do at this point.

library is locked and repair doesnt work I have just updated to Catalina and now the 'photo library is locked or you do not have permissions to make changes to it. Photos can try to repair the permissions.' When I try to 'repair' nothing happens. Can anyone advise me please..

I get an error code when trying to open Photos. It says it does not have permission to access the photos library. Double click to get permission. I cannot open Photos on this new Mac powerbook. It tells me it doesn't have permission to use the library choose another or quit. How do I fix it?

Where is your library located? If on an external HD it should be formatted as shown in this screenshot and connected by cable to your Mac:
