Any time I try to airdrop 4k video files from my iPhone to another phone or my mac, it first converts the video, which takes a long time. Is there a setting I can change, so that the iPhone will not convert the files, but just transfer them as they are?

Here was my idea:
Try going into iPhone Settings > Camera > Formats > and then choose "Most Compatible" instead of "High Efficiency".

Ok, found the answer! On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Photos -> Transfer to Mac or PC -> Keep Originals
This forces the phone to always transfer the original file without checking for compatibility.
I didn't find the keep Original Option till after airdropping the destroyed 4k file to iMac. Can anyone help me recover original file?
Does anyone want to address the question of why a $120K UI designer would leave as default, an option that destroys the footage shot? That a zero out of 10 choice.
