My Google Chrome browser has become infected with a spyware search engine called prisearches1391-a.akamaihd.net. I have been unable to remove it. Any tips? I have Googled this a bit, and tried removing it with Malwarebytes and Avast.

ASC thread above offers sound advice that should still work.
(Also found a variant of this malware 'made for' Windows OS.)
There may be something put into browser to redirect searches.
