Transfer files between 2 MACs running Catalina

Recently upgraded to Catalina and can no longer transfer files between two MACs on same WiFi network. Previously under Mojave, this was no problem. Is there a new procedure under Catalina or how do I make transfers work under Catalina?

I have a number of Macs and occasionally need to transfer large (GBs) files between them. They run various macOS versions, from High Sierra to Monterey. The Macs are all obviously connected to my wifi network but due to the location of the router wifi is slower for file transfers than a wired connection. In my testing it seems that even if I connect a wired connection the file transfer will be done wirelessly. For the transfer to be done over the wired connection I need to disconnect at least one of the Macs from the wifi. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this Philip

Transferring Data Is transferring data between macs difficult? my old mac is is a MacBook Pro 2012 running Catalina and my new is an M1 imac running Big Sur.

Mac to Mac migrate files I’m trying to use the migrate to transfer files from one MacBook Pro to another MacBook Pro but it won’t recognize the Mac that is trying to share info. They are in the same network, right next to each other. What am I doing wrong?
