Mac Touch ID not working

Hi,


I'm trying to set up Touch ID on my Mac after an update and it won't let me.

Every time I press the plus button to add print, it continues to say "Failed Unable to complete touch enrolment. Please go back and try again."

Is there a way to fix this?

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295


if no resolve take it in for assessment an a suspect hardware issue:


In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—
