Transfer photos to IMac

I need to transfer my photos from my iPhone 10 to my iMac. When I use airdrop it mess up all photo sequence. In apple store the support plug in a wire and it showed all photos in iPhone. But at home I do the same and my iPhone shows battery charge only. why? Do I need a special wire to do it?

I used to be able to transfer photos from my iPhoneX to my 16" macbook pro using airdrop until recently. It sees it as a choice on my iPhone but nothing comes to my laptop. I have tried all the suggestions I've seen to make that work with no luck. I would like to know if anyone has a fix for this.

Cannot import photos from my iPhone 11 to my MacBook Pro 2022. I have a new M1 MacBook Pro and and iPhone 11. I cannot import photos through the USB cable, nor can I select all "new photos" on my iphone to import through AirDrop. This should be a simple operation yet the only way it works for me is to individually select new photos to air drop. It is stupid and frustrating. When I use the USB connection, I get the message "Preparing to import ..." which never goes away. $5000 worth of hardware and I can't do the simplest connection! Please help if you can. Thank you.

Transferring photo information between iPhone and iMac. I have added extra information to photos on my iphone but when I import the photo to my iMac this information is not coming across. How can I get it to import with the photo? I generally use a cable for importing large numbers but also use airdrop.
