10.5 inch iPad Pro Smart Keyboard not connecting

My 10.5 inch iPad Pro Smart Keyboard will not connect. I’ve used it for over two years and it has slowly declined to the point where no matter what I do, the keyboard and the iPad won’t connect. I took it into the Apple store hoping for a refund and the best the employees could do is offer me a $149 keyboard “fix”. Apple previously had refunds for these same keyboards for the bigger and smaller sized iPad pros. I’m extremely displeased as I spent hard earned money to buy that keyboard. I’ve tried everything.
