Print with catalina

I purchased an HP Color Laser 150nw printer, but I can't use it with Catalina, while on a computer with WIndows 10 I had no problems. The printer is compatible with Airprint, but although it looks installed when I try to print, nothing happens. The print queue processes the document without having a print. I have a 21 "mac and in the printers section I have this script

HP Inc. HP Color Laser 150nw:

  Status: Idle

  Print server: Local

  Driver version: 2.0

  Default: Yes

  System printer sharing: No

  PPD: HP Color Laser 150nw-AirPrint

  PPD file version: 2.0

  PostScript version: (3010.000) 0

  CUPS version: 2.3.0 (cups-483.2)

  Scan support: No

  Printer commands: none

  AirPrint version: 1.8

  URF version: 1.4

Printer firmware version: System Firmware Version: V3.82.01.01, IPP: 1.0,1.1,2.0, JPEG: 1.02, URF: 1.4

  CUPS filters:

Can someone help me?

Thank you

I don’t know if this the right place, but i found a solution (after months of investigation) to add working printer drivers to Catalina even if your manufacture didn‘t have a updated (64 bit, signed) Driver.

I use a Samsung CLX-6260FW MFP and printing works only over AirPrint, but i need some options like Papertype and MF Tray, AirPrint only supports basic printing.

  1. Search for open Drivers for your Printer like on https://openprinting.org
  2. Download the right Driver (PPD File)
  3. Go to Settings -> Printer -> Right click -> Reset printing system.
  4. Go to Libary/Printers -> Delete all Files (removes old drivers)
  5. reboot
  6. Terminal -> Sudo cupsctl Webinterface=yes ( enables CUPS Webinterface - the UNIX Print server macOS uses)
  7. Go To http://localhost:631 and click Administration Tab.
  8. Click add Printer and select the printer u want to add. ( Sometimes you prompted to logon cups, use your local system account)
  9. click continue enter the name u want ad click continue
  10. in the section „Provide a PPD File“ choose your downloaded .ppd File from openprinting. Click add Printer
  11. you can now set some default options or close the tab.
  12. The printer should now displayed in Settings -> Printers
  13. Type Sudo cupsctl Webinterface=No (disable Webinterface) and you’re DONE!

Now your printer should work like a charm, no crashes of the driver or error messages like „filter failed“ crashed applications and so on. For me that solved a lot of issues and printing on my systems with High SIerra and Mojave and Catalina.

I Hope i can help someone best regards from Dresden.
