Heart rate metric run

Why is heart rate metric not available (greyed out) in outdoor run and walk? Articles seem to suggest that I should be able to select this. Is there some other setting that is making this unavailable?

Workout routes not showing in 9.2 (Race Route) In WatchOS 9.2 I’m not seeing routes in the Workout app. When I go to the start of my route, select Outdoor Run and filter on Routes, there are no options. I run the same route all the time and it shows up in Fitness on my iPhone so I know the watch and/or phone is recording the route. I thought it might have something to do with my route not being along a public road. So I just tested by running the same half mile twice on a sidewalk next to a road known to Maps. It measured the 0.5 miles the same within a stride or two so that tells me the GPS reading is consistent. Still when I went back to the start of the route it did not show up in Workouts. Sounds like power saving mode may be on. The setting is in the Apple Watch app on your phone under My Watch > Workout

Swipe up on the watch face then tap on the battery percentage number and slide on power reserve mode to turn it off.
