Upgrading to Mojave / Catalina

I will soon be installing this GPU - "OWC Radeon RX 580 8GB Graphics Upgrade" in my 2012 Mac Pro for two reasons. The obvious being the increase in performance over the ATI Radeon 5770. Another obvious reason is the capability to Upgrade to Mojave and beyond. My first question concerns both Mojave and Catalina. Is there any advantage to upgrading to Mojave and adapting to that OS and then from there to Catalina. Or, would it be just as well to upgrade to Catalina and bypass Mojave altogether?

Beyond that there is one more question that should perhaps not be for this particular forum. My main working app is Photoshop CS-6, which is usually open from dawn til dusk every day. If anyone here can perhaps offer some information concerning that combination, it would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,

Gary

A 2012 MacPro cannot upgrade to Catalina, Catalina is only officially supported in 2013 Trash Can MacPros and the new MacPro. Photoshop CS6 should be okay with Mojave in the most part, you should google for more info on that.

Your Radeon RX 580, from my memory (I may be wrong, things may have changed) cannot be 'flashed' for Mac this means you will not get the boot screens and will miss out on the Startup Manager, so please keep a mac edition or flashed for mac card handy when you need access to these items otherwise the card will work fine.
