Installing Microsoft applications on iPad pro

I just bought an iPad Pro. I have a Microsoft office 365 license for my PC and was planning to use it to install the Office apps on the iPad Pro. But do I need to install the entire the office 365 apps? Can I just install the Word app or the Excel app?

As of last week Microsoft has made their Microsoft Office application available on the App Store which combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into 1 single application. I personally do not see the appeal of this however other seem to really like it.

When it comes to MS Office mobile apps, there is no single suite install. You have to install each app you wish to use individually from the Apple App Store.

With an iPad Pro, MS requires a paid Office 365 subscription for full App functionality. You will sign in with each app to your MS ID and password to allow full use of each app - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Lens...

Thanks, I did not know MS had done that.

But that is only Word, Excel and PowerPoint, while an Office 365 subscription allows access to a lot more apps, including mobile versions of those apps. So it really only installs the “basic” MS Office, but not OneDrive, OneNote, Skype, TEAMs, etc.

I know for work I need TEAMs, OneNote, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, etc - so I agree, the single install option is somewhat pointless since I’d still have to go back and add all the others and then bundle them into a single folder for convenience.
