MS Word for Mac opens same file in several desktops vs. just one

when I open a word file using MS Word for Mac, the same file opens in every desktop I have open. How can I get it to just open in one desktop? thanks.

Switch to the desktop you wish for MS Word to use.

Right-click the MS Word dock icon, select Options > Assign To > This Desktop.

Ctrl-click on the Word icon in the Dock, and in the Options, assign Word to use a particular desktop instead of All Desktops.
