dark mode in pages

HI, i work in Mac dark mode, but I can't understand in apple pages the document (page) si white and not dark, i have read https://support.apple.com/it-it/HT208976 but i can't

iMac 27" 5K, macOS 10.13

Is this what you want? Not dark mode, but a background dark rectangle and white text in the body of the document.

Even in Dark mode, the Pages document itself is still white, and nothing you can do about it. LibreOffice Writer allows one to change the body text background to black and the text color if that is a goal.
