TV App Library Movie Genre Won't Change

In previous versions of MacOS, when I added a new movie ripped from a DVD via Handbrake to my library, I could change the genre from the default "Home Videos" to the closest genre choice (drama, etc.), and it would be then included in "Movies."

In Catalina, the genre dropdown menu in now all blank, and I have to type in the proper genre but the movie stays in "Home Movies."

So now all recently added movies (as well as my actual home movies, which is all I want in that category) are in "Home Movies" and all previous movies are in the "Movies" category.

How can I get my added movies to show up as Movies in my library in the TV app?

This is what worked for me:

Select "Get Info" for your chosen movie (command I or inside the 3-dots menu on the top-right of the page).

Across the top, click the 4th (of 6) buttons named "Options".

In the drop-down menu, select "Movies" instead of "Home Video".

HTH.
