A black spot appeared on my Macbook Pro screen with lines passing through it

I have been using my Macbook Pro for about 8months now and I’ve taken complete care of it. But today while using it sufdenly a black spot appeared on my screen with lines passing through it. I have no idea what the problem is. Whatever the problem is, is it covered under the warranty?

I took it to the official apple service centre here (as we don’t have a genius bar here). They said they’ll diagnose it but they don’t expect it to be covered under warranty. It used to work completely fine until suddenly the spot appeared and they say it looks like a pressure damage (which clearly is not the case). Can you help me with telling me what exactly is wrong with my Macbook?

Thanks I really appreciate your help.
