Unable to access to network drive after upgraded to Catalina.

Since upgraded to Catalina last year, I am not able to access to the network drive. I had no problem before the upgrade. Other PC/notebooks running Windows in the house are able to access the network drive. The current version of Catalina is 10.15.3. (see attached photo). Note that Catalina recognize/connects to the network drive, but unable to access.

I have to turn off the "secure folder access" on the network drive in order to get access to the network drive. After finished accessing to the network drive, then I turn the "secure folder access" back on the network drive.

Any suggestions to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Old Toad,

All my external drives including the network drive are formatted in NTFS. I had "Paragon NTFS for Mac 15" installed before Catalina and Catalina didn't remove "Paragon NTFS for Mac 15". Before Catalina, I had read/write access to the network drive as well as all my external drives directly connected to the Mac vis USB.

After upgrade to Catalina, I still have read/write access to all the external drives that connected directly to the Mac vis USB. The problem is now when I tried to access the network drive, the network drive asks for user ID and password as usual and it rejected the user ID and password I entered(same user ID and password used before Catalina). But, when I turn off the "secure folder access"(ie, no user ID and password is required) in the network drive, then I have read/write access the network drive(I guess because the user ID and password check on the network drive side is bypassed).

I am guessing that the logon process between Catalina and the network drive may be the issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again.

Hi Old Toad,

I installed the latest version of Paragon NTFS for Mac 15.5.62 and did not resolve the issue. The logon panel for the network drive(see attached screen shot) is rejecting either the Guest or Registered user.

If I turn off the "Secure Folder Access"  in the router where the network drive is connected, it works. Catalina just connected to the network drive with no logon panel.

All my external including the network drives are in NTFS format and Catalina has no problem accessing them when they are connected vis the USB. Other PCs in the house running Windows 10 are able to access the network drive perfectly(logon with user ID and password).

I am guessing that the logon panel may be sending the incorrect user id and password combination to the network drive. It just a guess.

Any suggestions?
