Battery drain on Magic Trackpad 2

My Magic Trackpad 2 seems to drain energy faster than either my mouse or my keyboard, even though I use it less than the mouse or keyboard. I'm getting roughly 10 days use out of it before I have to recharge it which may not be too bad. But if I monitor its performance in System Preferences, I can see that the battery drop for the trackpad is a lot faster than the mouse or keyboard. Is this normal or should I be doing something to preserve battery power? All and any help most welcome.

FWIW, my brand new Trackpad 2 lasts for about a month and I am a heavy trackpad user. Batteries do degrade, but I’m assuming your keyboard is the same age, so it’s performance should be similar?

You could turn it off at night, but Bluetooth uses so little power when in standby mode that I don’t think it will make much of a difference.
