Finally bowed to this forums opinion and deleted Avast. However when I ran an etre check I get in minor problems "Library/LaunchDaemons/com.avast.hub.schedule.plist" and "/Library/Application Support/AvastHUB/com.avast.hub.app/Contents/scripts/com.avast.hub.schedule.plist" - neither of these are searchable in Finder - should I just click the remove button?

Here's how you can delete them via Finder:
From your FInder GO menu > Go to folder > and copy/paste this file path:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.avast.hub.schedule.plist
Delete the .plist file
Then repeat the Go to folder with this file path:
/Library/Application Support/AvastHUB
Delete the folder

Got FAF - just pressed find and an incredible number of files show up with avast in them - should I delete them all and if so, how?
Also when I pressed alt +find I got the window asking me for permission to let FAF do changes - bit nervous about this - what changes?
Ah, I've looked it up - but clicking alt+find and giving permission it shows everything on the disc relating to my search item - same question, if I do this, do I delete everything with avast in and if so, how?

I've downloaded Find Any File and it seems there are 68 files with Avast in the name! How do I delete them? Or should I bother?
I don't use FAF but that sounds a bit weird! I'd focus on the ones found by Etrecheck.
Why not post your Etrecheck report here? Just copy/paste into the Additional text icon in your reply:
Just deleted them by clicking REMOVE in Etrecheck - got a window saying file can't be found and when I ran Etrecheck again there were no files with avast in them in minor problems - hopefully sorted

Yes, in the result window you Can Select All, right click & choose Move to Trash.
